The first VHCS GP race was held at Lostallo Switzerland. It was the most difficult task for pilots to keep a pace as fast as possible throughout the race, avoid mistakes and successfully manage the serious traffic of the fast AI opponents.
Magicj did all that better than anyone else and took a proud victory! akouk tried hard and challenged the winner, leading 1/3 of the 22 min race, but during the last few Km the German Champion was too fast. Jo.sk did an exellent start, took F/L and led the first 6 min of the race, but his pace slowed down afterwards and remained 3rd.  Longbow took 4th with a good performance. Robylu won over Raska but that wasn’t enough to pass him in the championship’s standings as he needed. -it finished 7th respectively.

Brooklands UK is the most demanding circuit of VHCS. AIs do their best SE driving whilst the crossroad layout brings more than enough trouble to the pilots.
Magicj led the grid after qualifying but it was jo.sk who led the race immediately, jumping ahead of the German after the first lap. Although slower, the Frenchman’s AudiTT passed quicker through the chicane due to smaller size and that proved to be critical.
Jo made a slight gap ahead of magicj & akouk who fought for 2nd place. After a while akouk escaped from magicj’s pressure and started eliminating the difference from the top. Just in time for pitting akouk took the lead but got caught up in traffic and Jo regained immediately.
By that time tony (who was always following close-by in 4th after overcoming LongBow’s resistance) was already on fresh tires and with very fast driving managed to clear the straight in 2nd place, just as akouk & magicj were exiting the pit-line. Akouk got some clearance after a while and started gaining on Jo all over again, but the French was already in a safety distance.
Magicj & tony fought for 3rd for several laps. The Russian was very quick from time to time but made many mistakes which finally might have cost him 3rd place.
Italian -it did a great comeback in the last laps, up to 5th place and managed to eliminate no less than 2 secs difference from LongBow who seemed tired during the last laps.
Regulars Raska & robylu fought their own battle almost all distance long, both with AudiTT.

ANALYSIS
Jo drove very fast and took advantage of his AIs relativ slow tempo. Akouk’s AIs was also slower and that’s what gave the extra lap pts. On the contrary, magicj was dealing with the fastest AIs, even faster than the ones if the other AudiA4 drivers.
Now jo.sk has the first word for SE victory, but all other places are open and the fights will be hard. In case of a tie overall time will be decisive.

Raska & robylu dominated the Brooklands_SE Sprint session, as expected. The Swiss pilot was very determined after his bad result in the Regular and so overcame the Italians resistance soon after the start. Tony couldn’t catch up with them but wasn’t threatened by magicj & akouk eihter. These two pilot were fighting for second & third podium seats and although akouk tried really hard to eliminate magicj’s handicap advantage, the German pilot took 4th position just 0,13 ahead of the Greek, which gave him 2nd SE-podium pos due to better overall time. Session’s leader jo.sk was held back by his severe weight handicap, but won the Event non the less thanks to his Regular difference. Italian pilot -it performed significantly less than expected and finished 7th, wrapping up the Sprint.

That was the last SE for season 2005, thanks for joining & hope to see you back for some VHCS action!

akouk kept his qualifying rhythm throughout the entire 20 Km Regular race, driving the racing-yellow Alfa155 to the limit. The Italian drivers were followed a 2 pit stop tactic and at the mid-time positions were mixed temporarily. Robylu & Raska both in CLKs had a theoretical advantage over akouk’s Alfa. “It”‘s selection of the Opel Calibra paid off with a F/L point. Raska made some mistakes and missed the chance for something better. Although he overtook robylu & it to 2nd place by their 2nd pit stop, his tires were too warn up to defend against the Italians. Robylu climbed to 2nd almost immediately and “it” seized the opportunity to take 3rd at last lap, taking advantage of Raska’s mistakes. Akouk finished first with 4 AI pts. Robylu earned 3 AI pts respectively and mathematically has still chance to win the Ansicht_SE trophy.

Raska’s pride was restored after his sprint performance. The Swiss driving the handicap-less AudiTT and starting from pole pos. had no difficulty dominating the 5Km distance by more than a second ahead of his opponents. Behind him though, the battle for 2nd place was breathtaking. “it” drove very well and he was determined not to let others pass. Robylu & akouk were hunting him down furiously but “it” fended them off corner after corner and finally his effort paid off as he managed to hold second place for himself. The grid finished the race in the starting order, as everybody drove very well and the handicaps could not have been eliminated. Akouk & robylu retained their temporary classification advantages and got the first two SE podium seats. Raska & “it” were tied in the temporary classification after the Sprint, so the overall Event time was calculated to award the SE podium 3rd place

In a track that proved to be much tougher than it looked, avoiding mistakes was more than half way to victory. Akouk’s performance was a disaster. Although he achieved some good lap times, fastest lap among them, he had enormous troubles overtaking the AIs and got of track twice.

“You can judge a good day from it’s morning”, say the Greeks and although akouk led the race convincingly for the first 5 laps or so, a steering failure drop him to third: “…that was most unfortunate, i had a good start, but as i turned in to the chicane over the hill the steering wheel went dead, i should change keys…” .
By that time Raska & robylu were battling for second one sec behind, with .it. close by. After akouk’s incident Raska led mostly with robylu challenging strongly. Akouk gained on them a little at a time and was on top again after the pit stops. This time though Raska stick to it and the lead changed many times, until akouk made two clumsy move on the AIs and drop to third for good.
Raska’s race was most clean and robylu’s almost as good. .it. was much improved finishing within three secs behind the winner.

After the 20Km the SE seemed to be turning in favor of akouk, who despite consistency problems managed to stay close in pts to leader Raska and now at the Sprint would have a good chance to strike for SE victory because he run on light handicap.
Three drivers had a fair chance to win here in France, as besides Raska & akouk, also robylu could do it. Everyone was anxious to see how .it. would perform and whether or not would be able to influence the outcome. Akouk needed win+F/L to secure SE victory. A 2nd Raska +F/L would lead in a tie.
.It. showed very strong at the beginning and led the race for half the time, but it seemed that akouk would eventually overcome his resistance. Indeed akouk presented a good self and kept a fast rhythm until the end, taking F/L point as well.
Raska’s handicap restrained him and could not do better than 4th respectively. Robylu & Raska were soon separated from the leading duo and fought for third. Robylu won the battle among the two and the drivers were tied after the sprint with 7 pts each. Second SE place went to Raska because he did faster overall time in the three sessions. It. was very good and the funs loved to see one more good driver joining the club.

Thanks for joining.

Raska was more confident during this one; his recent successes in moto gp seem to have given him wings. The race was close but the Swiss was never seriously challenged. A very good performance by robylu though has set on fire the oncoming sprint session.

Raska, driving a well tuned up Opel Vectra, started from pole and led the race almost entirely. He was second only briefly during the pit stop changes. He drove steadily and constantly and had always a minimum 5-10 m gap from second man akouk, who couldn’t avoid a couple of mistakes.
Robylu started a bit numbly but after lap three he speeded up and seemed capable of catching up with the first two. Unfortunatly he couldn’t keep the pace and slowly dropped back. The important thing is, that robylu earned three points by lapping three AIs during his heat. Raska & akouk only managed to lap one each, although akouk’s AIs lap times were significantly slower than Raska’s, and he could possibly have done better. Raska got fastest lapand now leads the classification by a point over akouk & robylu who both have 6 pts.
New entry it. from Italy made a great effort to win his heat, as he was challeged very much by the AIs. But not only did he managed to win his heat, he made imressive overtakings as well (6 of them!), leaving the best impressions.
Hrvatski saw the return of a great sportsman xxflip, who raced despite lack of time in this very difficult circuit.
RACE ANALYSIS
As seen in the info bellow, Raska’s race was almost as fast as possible. To have been able to lap another AI would have required a perfect run, because the Vectra AIs are really fast. Akouk on the other hand should have earned two more pts, as the two AIs ahead of him were within reach and close together. Robylu could also have earned more pts. The Calibra AIs are proven to be relatively slower, something that we noticed also in Coimbra, were Jo (excessively) lapped them all! The Opel Vectra was probably a better choise for Hrvatski and although the C class and the Calibra were faster on the straight, it was more difficult for akouk & robylu to exploit that speed.
Now there are multiple scenarios for the Sprint. Akouk & robylu can claim SE victory if they win with fastest lap. Robylu  will be driving on handicap +2 and akouk on +3. Raska wins even with second place plus fastest lap, but starts last on handicap +4 (so fastest lap is probably out of question). In case of a tie, overall time (Q+R+S) will be counted.

Wow! What a finish for the Hrvatski_SE!
Robylu made a great performance and with a clean Sprint victory plus fastest lap point he is the third VHCS Winner in four Events!
Italian it also made a promising race, as he led at the first two laps and then gave a strong fight with akouk for second place. Akouk on +3 made an equally good race as the winner, but yesterday the handicaps were decisive.  Raska on +4 failed to keep up with akouk & it and finished 4th, also lost second place overall for one point to akouk. Had .it not made  two mistakes he would probably have finished second or even would have claimed victory for himself and the final SE standings would have been a lot different.
Robert didn’t manage to get rid of the AIs and so finished 5th.
Points & handicaps worked a lot in this SE, and I’m sure they will bring much more ups & downs with a bigger rooster. Thanks for competing and see you again in France!

A very interesting 20Km -R session took place on Sun, Apr 10 2005, at the tight circuit of Muhlau Germany. The race had it all: close fights, lead changes & furious chases. Chassis selection was an important factor, as the track wouldn’t favor large bodies. To all fans disappointment, jo.sk didn’t make it to race. He was played highly on the bets and the fight would have been spectacular.

Akouk desided to use the narrow body AudiTT, thinking it would be more appropriate for Muhlau. The car was slower than the competition, but what it lost at speed, it gained at flexibility.
Raska used the Audi A4, a good choice for this circuit, but now he may have  to use the TT elsewhere, on a more open track, thus then having a disadvantage.
Robylu’s car choice didn’t pay off, as the large body of the Mercedes C-class slowed him down.
Akouk lead the race for the first quarter, followed closely by Raska who was pushing hard the A4 at the chicanes to exploit his car’s advantage. The lead changed at lap 6 when Raska made a marvelous move. Akouk was on a two pit strategy and on lap 10 he made his first stop, letting Raska breathe a little. Then on fresh tyres he started a furious chase for the lead and caught Raska by the time he stopped for refueling. The roles was now reversed as Raska was faster and on the hunt.
By lap 20 akouk pitted for the 2nd time and the lead passed to Raska again. Akouk fought his way through his AIs and on lap 28 regained the lead which held untill the finish. Raska finished 2nd respectively and if he hadn’t made a few mistakes he would have probably won.
Robylu drove a lonely race about 5 sec behind the leading duo to a third place.
Akouk has a 2 point difference over Raska at the session classification, due to 5 R-Pts earned over his AIs. Raska scored fastest lap point and is still in the fight for SE victory. A lot will be decided by robylu’s performance in the Sprint, who is seeking to get even for the Futura_SE.

Once again the Sprint battle was fascinating! Spectators eager to see how the pilots would respond to the weight handicaps and hoped for some close results… and they weren’t proved wrong.
Robylu seemed strong and capable of winning the session at first, but a few mistakes took victory away. The Italian led the race in the first few laps, just ahead of Raska and akouk, who watched every step of his. Akouk knew that even the slightest mistake in the heaviest car would be enough to drop him back and tried hard to drive through all corners clean.
At lap 4 robylu payed for his first mistake, as got overtaken by akouk to first place. Due to a second similar mistake he lost second place to Raska too, but he didn’t give up. He followed right up and when Raska gave away the tight hairpin, robylu passed to second and managed to hold there for the last lap, finishing half a body ahead of he Swiss.
This was a good event which kept the interest alive at all times. Akouk used the TT wisely and managed to get the best out of it. Raska’s choise was good and could have done better with a few mistakes less. Robylu’s capabilities showed at the spint, as he could do nothing more in the Regular with the C class.
Thanks for the good racing and the healthy spirit!

In a difficult circuit of Bologna Italy, were the AIs cut deep in to the curves and won’t let go until you finally have cleared them out, a great race was held for the 2nd Round with some very skillful driving, breathless fights and surprising pts summaries.

Jo had missed the qualifying so he had to start from the pits and literally sweep his way to the finish line. Although he run with wrong chassis, as he had previously used the Opel Calibra in Coimbra_SE, the RACE OFFICIALS decided, after a long and argue-full meeting, not to assign any penalties to the French champion.
Man of the day was our Swiss favorite Raska, who’s consistent driving paid him off, not only with  the second fastest time, but mostly with 2 valuable pts, as he lapped down the last two AIs.  He didn’t have a tea-party time though; he was challenged furiously by the Italian stallion Robylu, who claimed the 2nd fastest time all distance long and lost it on the line by a wheel’s difference.
Everybody was anxious to see how jo.sk would respond to the heavy handicap applied to him, by starting from the pits. He did magnificent clearing his way through the AIs, passed all of them in the first few laps and begun eliminating his difference with Robylu. He reached and passed him too, and as everyone waited on their toes to see Raska be the next, Robylu fought back, challenged really hard with his A4 and passed him back to third place. Robylu’s effort was so intense, that led him right on Raska’s tail for the 2nd place, which was lost for him by a breath.
Fastest time was made by akouk, scoring fastest lap as well. The Greek  succeed just enough in the pts field though and now will have a hard task preserving the lead, as he will run the Sprint on severe handicap (start last + heaviest car).
It was 20Km surely worth the dime, and the best of Futura_SE are still to come, as Jo will stat the sprint from first row with slightly weighted car. Not much thought for the sprint winner there… or not..?

The Futura_SE sprint got along as expected: very fast & consistent driving by all pilots, close fights and spectacular show to watch.
Jo.sk drove with confidence and although he was challenged in the first few laps, he won the race relatively easy, scoring fastest lap too. A less weighted Alfa155 was assigned to Jo and that helped him build up a safety difference between him and the furious pack that followed…
The 2nd place was not secure for anyone untill the checkered flag. Robylu started very fast, caught up with Jo almost immediately and also leaded the race in lap one. After Jo reclaimed the lead, Robylu held the 2nd for the most part, but was receiving enormous pressure by akouk & Raska, who where challenging within 0,1 of a sec. It was just two minor mistakes -one of them in the last corner- that actually cost Robylu the second place.
Raska started slower and for the most part was switching 3rd place with akouk. By the end of the race though he showed great quickening,  took advantage of a very quick last chicane pass, entered the straight ahead of the other two and crossed the line less than 0,1 ahead.
akouk drove the heaviest vehicle and started last, but drove almost flawlessly non the less and was there when Robylu missed the clean pass at the last turn, to steal 3rd place from him by 0,01 and thus securing victory in the overall standings.
In the points field, Jo’s sprint dominance led him to 9 pts, same as Raska, but with the Swiss taking 2nd place because of the faster qualifier. akouk reached 10 and thus finished 1st in the pts summury.

Note: if Raska had the pole, and thus 1 bonus point added to his SE Standing, he would have 5pts, same as akouk, and he would have been the Futura_SE winner, in case of a tie like that!

The fact is that jo.sk sealed the Coimbra_SE from the R-Race. He drove magnificently the Opel Calibra, which proved to be most suitable here in Portugal and also had the luck to score 5 AI pts by lapping down all 5 of them. Unbelievable indeed!

akouk tried to fight  back, but it seemed impossible. Although he got the pole, he lost the lead by the end of the first lap and didn’t return to it. He managed to stay in touch with the leader for a few rounds, but the French consistency and the Calibra’s top speed left him no chance.
Behind, robylu, who had challenged the leader in the qualification, drove a rather lonely good race, ahead of local hero xxflip, who was worshiped by the crowds all race long.
Now everybody will drive the Calibra for the 5 Km Sprind, starting in reverce order.
We may have a Round1 winner already, but prestige and honor are equaly as important!

The sprint was close, as expected. With all drivers riding the same car, everyone had a good chance of challenging one another. Jo.sk missed this one, but he won the overall classification non the less, thanks to his brilliant R-Race performance. With the French out, akouk won the sprint with a good performance, ahead of a great robylu, who challenged respectively for the win. xxflip took the third podium seat, before the exited Portuguese crowd.
The Calibra is fast but hard to handle and the official’s congratulations goes to all participants for their time and effort.

Race-1 of the Lostallo Test Event gave a breathtaking battle for 2nd. Three pilots, robylu (ITA) Jo.sk (FRA) & Raska (SWI),  lead over one another through the narrow corners (and the careless AIs) for the podium.

akouk (GRE) & xxflip (POR) on the other hand drove lonely races. akouk had no rival for the checkered flag, as he led the pack for start to finish, scoring fastest lap as well. His car choice paid off, as the Opel Astra had more grip in the hair pins and made quick passes through the -s turn. xxflip was lapped down only because he got off track a lot and lost much time spinning in the gravel with the Audi TT.
The crowd loved the two red Alfa 155 and the black Mercedes CLK competing side by side all distance long. The trio separated after the 7th Km mark, as Jo.sk took advantage of some minor mistakes made by robylu & Raska. He probably would have finished 2nd but a slow pit stop dropped him 5 sec behind his rivals, a gap he could not cover over the last few laps.
Although Jo finished 4th, he got 3rd place at the overall Race-1 standings, because he made more pts from his race than Raska and also turned a faster lap.
Nowthe short Race-2 starts with the grid reversed. Could that make the difference?

The Sprint course of the Lostallo Test Event was also fascinating! The battles for 1st and 3rd were intense. The crowd loved once more the red Alfas witch gave a breathtaking sprint.

Although robylu started from 4th, he instantly closed up on Raska and challenged him hard, pushing also further up. They fought closely all distance long and once again the Italian crossed the finish line ahead. Jo.sk put up and excellent performance with the CLK. The fans were impressed by the way he squeezed the heavy chassis through the narrow raceway, getting the best out of it. But the Astra gave akouk a clear advantage. The car was generally quicker an it’s top speed disadvantage made no difference here in Switzerland. Although he started from 5th, akouk gained fast behind Jo to soon take the lead and hold it to the end.
Driving the Alfa didn’t stop  robylu from collecting two precious Lap points, which kept him 2nd overall, ahead of Jo.sk, who thus needed 2 pts to overcome robylu’s qualification result advantage in case of a tie.
